Uncontrollable Beauty

Series

2010 - Present

In 2010, I moved to the remote countryside in North Wales, which had a profound impact on my practice. With less entertainment but more opportunities for discovery, I began to notice the fascinating oddities in nature, such as weathered trees, densely grown moss, the skeletons of flower heads, incredibly long lichen, and colonies of daisies in the middle of fields.

The Uncontrollable Beauty series began as a personal challenge to break free from my pre-established concepts, creating forms without any preconceived ideas. I selected elements of natural beauty, examined them, and developed and represented them through my methods of growing form.
